In Uttarakhand, two persons were killed due to landslide in Pithoragarh district on Monday. Meanwhile road transport and communications services are badly affected following torrential rain in the state. Met department has predicted more rain in coming 24 hours.

AIR correspondent, according to reports more than hundred peoples have died in rain related incidents in the state during this monsoon. About one thousand five hundred houses and nine hundred roads including link roads were damaged following the rain and landslides during this season.

In Paangla on Kailash Mansarover rout two villagers were killed today due to falling of rocks. Including this five persons were died due to rain in last 24 hours.

Meanwhile 29 students were rescued when a school bus was swept away in a seasonal river near Nanakmatta in Udhamsingh Nagar. Sky is clear at many places on Monday. Met department predicts that light to moderate rain may occur in next 24 hours.

In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rain has taken a toll on the famous historical Ridge Maidan of Shimla. A portion of the ridge has sinked causing imminent threat to large no of shops in Tibetan Market.

Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded for more than 9 hours on Chaila -Shimla road following land slide. The landslide happened in the morning around 10 am but could be cleared only after 7 pm forcing hundreds af people including to remain without food and water.

Due to bad roads the truck operators are hesitant to send their vehicles to the upper Shimla thus affecting the on going apple season The historical ridge of Shimla has also been damaged due to rain posing threat to dozens of shops in the local tibetian market.

The ridge suddenly sinked around two meters yesterday posing threat to the water tank with the capacity of 25 lakh lt from where the drinking water to the city is supplied, but the historical Gaity theatre is safe .

The Bhakra dam has also opened its all four flood gates by 2 feet on Sunday after the water level increased beyond its capacity Mean while the Met office has predicted more rain in next 24 hrs

In Andhra Pradesh, several districts are experiencing widespread rains under the influence of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal coupled with vigorous monsoon. The rivers and rivulets are swollen and the reservoirs are brimming with huge inflows coming from upper areas. The state government has directed the district collectors to be alert and ready to deal with any untoward situation arising out of incessant rains.

In Uttar Pradesh, the flood situation has deteriorated again in certain western districts due to spate in Ganga. Fifty villages in Bijnore have become flood affected while the villages in the vicinity of river in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut have become marooned.

About 1.25 lakh cusec of water has been released from Haridwar barrage in the river Ganga yesterday due to heavy rainfall in the heights of Uttarakhand.

AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that the situation in Gonda and Bahraich district of terai is still grim where 175 villages are still flood affected.
