The rupee today weakened by 2 paise to 46.86 a dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market. The Indian currency had ended higher by 6 paise at 46.84/85 a dollar on Thursday.
Dealers said month-end demand for dollar from importers mainly kept pressure on the rupee.
