CSIR: Primary focus on value addition in agriculture at grass root level

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR) today said that generating enough wealth for people by value addition in agriculture at the grass root level is its primary focus.
Talking to media in New Delhi Director general of CSIR, Prof. S. Brahamachari said that CSIR aims to improve upon its present base of technolgies by framing a proper feed back mechanism and marketting strategy.
He also emphasised on the need to introduce new and innovative training programmes in schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employement Gurantee Act to make people self sufficient.
