Indian and British firms make multi million pounds deals

A series of deals worth multi million pounds were announced in New Delhi today between British and the Indian firms. Welcoming the deals, the British Business Secretary Dr. Vince Cable said that this shows that there is enormous potential by partnering with firms in India which is predicted to be the fastest growing economy in the world this year. The Road Transport Minister Mr Kamal Nath was also present on the occasion. The deals include sale of hovercraft for Indian Coastguard, prodution of one lakh vehicles and an MoU to build 2000 seats green technology processing centre at a special economic zone in Karnataka.
Earlier, speaking to media after his ceremonial reception at the fore courts of Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi today, visiting British Prime Minister, David Cameron said , the purpose of his visit was to deepen all the aspects of relationship in the area of business, commerce and industry. Wishing New Delhi all the success for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, Mr.Cameron said there is a common bondage between the two peoples.
The British Prime Minister will hold delegations level talks with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi this evening. Terrorism, Civil nuclear cooperation, Afghanistan and British government’s restrictions on non- EU immigration of skilled labour are expected to come up for discussions apart from other bilateral, regional and international issues. A major cultural agreement, the first ever between India and Britain will be signed today. The two sides are also discussing extension of India-UK Education and Research initiative by another five year.
