President Hamid Karzai called upon international community to innovate its vision for common fight against the enemy of terrorism so that Afghanistan reemerges a peaceful meeting place of civilizations. Unveiling an ambitious agenda for country’s security and development, President said that his country will take charge of its security and law and order by 2014. He asked the international conference to channel aid money through his government to fund national programs that could transform the lives of the Afghan people. UN Secretary General Ban-ki- Moon in his address termed the conference as true beginning of Afghan leadership. He accepted that insufficient consideration was given to Afghan people in the past and hoped that the conference will set it right. US Secretary of state Hillary Clinton stressed for alignment of international aid along with national programs of Afghanistan. She mentioned of the July 2011 deadline for beginning of withdrawal of US troops saying it will be responsible, conditions-based transition. The delegates include representatives from 57 countries, including 40 foreign ministers and 11 representatives from regional and international organizations.
