ONGC expects to produce 17 million cubic metres/day from its gas fields in the KG basin in five years time. ONGC is currently developing two gas fields, G-1 and G-15, off the coast of East Godavari.
The total investment in developing these two fields will be close to Rs 1,250 crore, say sources.
Production from G-15 is expected to start by the middle of this year while the other field is expected to come online by mid-2011. The peak production is expected to be 2.6 mcm day, which is likely to be reached by the second year of operations.
