Karthigai Deepam at Arunachaleswarar Temple

Karthigai Deepam Festival is one of the most popular Hindu festivals celebrated at the Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. Karthigai Deepam, also spelled Karthika Deepam, falls on the tenth day of the Brahmotsavam in the Tamil month of Karthikai (mid November to mid December). Widely known as Karthikai Brahmotsavam, the Thiruvannamalai Temple festival begins in the Uthiradam (star) day in Karthigai and concludes with the Bharani Deepam lit in the early hours of the tenth day. In 2009, the Karthigai Deepam festival falls on 1st December 2009.
