Domestic auto sales have seen a jump across all segments including cars, CVs, two and three wheelers band; still a blip in the exports of medium and heavy commercial vehicle space
Domestic auto sales have seen a jump across all segments including cars, CVs, two and three wheelers band while exports have picked up significantly for passenger vehicle segment. But there is still a blip in the exports of medium and heavy commercial vehicle space.
Auto sector had strong 6 months period from April to October 2009. On YoY basis, auto production growth stood at 12%. Passenger Vehicle sales for April-October (YoY) stood up 16.2%, cars sales stood up 17.5%, Utility Vehicles sales stood up 6.4% and Multipurpose Vehicles stood up 24%.
For April – October (YoY) domestic CV sales stood up 5.36%, M&HCVs sales stood down 11.26 % while LCVs sales stood up 22.65 %. Sales of 3-wheelers for April – October period (YoY) stood up 13.66 %, 2-wheelers sales stood up 14.93% and motorcycles sales stood up 14.83%.
Auto exports for the period April – October (YoY) stood up 5.45%. However, there was no growth in CVs, 2 & 3-wheelers exports. Passenger vehicles stood up 31.23%.
