2009 November 9

New Delhi, Nov 9 : A Blue Line bus mowed down a school boy in Delhi’’s Shastri Park area this morning as he was going to his school on foot. He was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, an angry mob damaged buses plying in the area.

Eyewitnesses said the victim, a student of Class Eight was walking to school at around 8:30 this morning when the bus plying at a very high speed, lost control and ran over him.

The police registered a case of negligence against the bus driver and the conductor.

The incident came a day after another man was mowed down in South Delhi.

Despite the relentless media campaign against these buses, the Delhi Government has been slow in fazing them out.

The State government had earlier assured the general public and the court that these buses would be taken off the streets soon.
