Hooda meets Congress President to discuss Haryana leadership issue

New Delhi, Oct 23(ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday met Congress President Sonia Gandhi to discuss the state leadership issue.

On Thursday, the Congress got 40 seats in the 90-member assembly, falling short by six MLAs to cross the half – way mark.

During his meeting with the Congress President, Hooda informed her that the State Congress party has already staked its claim to form the Government.

“Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President, Phoolchand Singh Maulana, has already met the Governor. He has staked claim for forming the Government and Congress is going to form the Government,” Hooda said.

“Seven independent MLA”s are supporting Congress unconditionally. And even constitutionally,” he added.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Kumari Shelja, dismissed reports and said that she was not contesting for the chief ministerial post and the final decision will be taken by Sonia Gandhi.
