Samoa Earthquake Triggers Tsunami, Kills At Least 39

Samoan Islands (ChattahBox) – An earthquake has hit the region of the Samoan Islands, and caused a 10-foot tsunami to be generated in the area.
The 7.9 magnitude earthquake does not seem to have caused any major damage, though reports have been sketchy.
A tsunami warning has been placed in effect for the American Samoa, Samoa, Cook, Tonga and Fiji regions, with a possible warning coming for Hawaii. Officials are currently investigating whether or not Hawaii and Papua New Guinea may be at risk
The initial report and warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.
Update:  At least 50 people were killed in Samoa and neighboring American Samoa, as the quake now said to be 8.3-magnitude, generated 5.1ft (1.57m) waves in Apia and Pago Pago, American Samoa
