Parekh wants to go abroad
Stock broker Ketan Parekh, alleged mastermind of the securities scam of the 1990s, has moved the Supreme Court seeking permission to travel abroad for the treatment of his daughter.
He has sought permission to travel to the US and the UK between September and November. Parekh has also sought a direction to the Gujarat government to return his passport.
“It is absolutely just and necessary in the interest of justice and equity that the petitioner be permitted to visit the UK and the USA… In order to travel outside India it would be necessary for this court to direct return of the petitioner’s passport to him,” Parekh said in his petition.
