Asian mkts opened mixed amid North Korea’s nuclear test concerns; Hang Seng up 0.33%, Straits Times up 0.40%, Nikkei fell 0.86%

Asian markets opened mixed amid North Korea’s nuclear test concerns. Moody’s Investors Service said that the nuclear test by North Korea won’t affect the South’s A2 rating, which is its sixth highest.

China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.21% or 5.41 points at 2,604.60. Japan’s Nikkei fell 0.86% or 80.06 points at 9,266.94. South Korea’s Seoul Composite slipped 0.55% or 7.66 points at 1,393.24.
However, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.33% or 56.90 points at 17,178.72. Singapore’s Straits Times was up 0.40% or 9.13 points at 2,276.59. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted gained 0.68% or 45.70 points at 6,780.16.
