Asian mkts mostly up; Shanghai Composite up 0.30%; Hang Seng up 1.31%

Asian markets open the Wednesday session on shaky ground as concerns over US bank balance sheets and also as fears over the spread of Swine Flu persist. Markets in Japan closed for the Show a holiday, will re-open tomorrow.
China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.30% or 7.26 points at 2,408.70. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 1.31% or 190.26 points at 14,745.37. Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.73% or 13.16 points at 1,821.57. South Korea’s Seoul Composite advanced 1.33% or 17.24 points at 1,317.48. However, Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was down 0.11% or 6.39 points at 5,590.34.
