Asian mkts trading mixed, Shanghai Composite up 0.18%

Asian mkts trading mixed; Shanghai Composite up 0.18%; Hang Seng slipped 0.52%

Asian markets started the day on flat note and are trading mixed. China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.18% or 4.46 points at  2,468.42. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted gained 1.37% or 80.30 points at 5,955.54.

However, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng slipped 0.52% or 78.69 points at 15,135.77. Japan’s Nikkei was down 0.33% or 29.05 points at 8,817.96. Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.53% or 9.80 points at 1,850.18. South Korea’s Seoul Composite fell 0.17% or 2.35 points at 1,366.45.
