Airline load factor likely to be announced anytime in the next 2-3 days
Airline load factor is likely to be announced anytime in the next 2-3 days. And it is expected to drop substantially.
Sources said that the airlines load factors and air passenger traffic declined on MoM basis in March. Load factor for low cost carriers has declined by around 10% (MoM) in March. And the load factor for full service carrier has declined by 5-7% (MoM) in March. The decline in March load factor is due to weak demand and rub-off effect of February fare hike.

Sources at Spice Jet said that they are expecting a load factor of 68% for the month of March as against 78.5% in the month of February. Analysts expect Jet Airways to see a load factor of 64% in the month of March as against 68.7% in the month of February. This will be a good realty check when the markets open today because all the stocks like Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and Spice Jet closed very high in trade yesterday.
However analysts said that this low demand and low load factor numbers that will come which are expected anytime in the coming 2-3 days will not effect the airlines because this slow down in demand is seen only post fare hikes that have happened and also due to spike in the recent Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) price revision that happened. There is another second round of fare hikes that is expected anytime soon.
